Clear Aligners Before and After

Clear Aligners Before and After

Traditionally, braces have been the go-to for orthodontic treatment because they're often misrepresented as 'the most effective' option. BUT the Bitesoft Co team is here to make a serious rebuttal.

Clear Aligners offer incredible, heck; we'd even go as far as saying 'mind-blowing' results. And more commonly than not, they're cheaper, the treatment is shorter, and your confidence won't take the hit of a lifetime by sporting clunky, food-gathering hardware that you'll be stuck with for every photo, meeting and social gathering for 12 months or more.

However, to support our claim, we figured you wouldn't simply take our word for it—and we're mildly offended. Regardless, we're willing to humour our dedicated readers and those with orthodontic interests and supply you with photographic evidence to support our case.

We've put together clear aligners before and after treatment photos for conditions including crowded teeth, overbites, and gaps between teeth.

But before we get into that, let's quickly discuss:

How Do Clear Aligners Work?

Clear Aligners use calibrated force to align your teeth into a new position; this forces the body to adapt by remodelling the bone.

We're about to get super technical but stay with us because you might miss some vital info to help you make your orthodontic decision.

Basically, when pressure is applied to a tooth, the periodontal ligament or PDL (a group of connective tissue fibres that attach the tooth to the alveolar bone) compresses, and the bone on the side receiving the pressure responds by resorption. Following this process and the inflammation that occurs during the body's attempt to heal, two kinds of bone cells are produced:

Osteoclasts - These cells break down existing bone on the compressed side of the periodontal ligament.

Osteoblasts - These cells build new bone on the stretched side of the periodontal ligament.

Each Clear Aligner moves your teeth in small, safe, and conservative increments. This is done over your specific estimated treatment time and monitored by our Orthodontics throughout the course of treatment.

Typically, you will insert a new pair of aligners every fortnight and wear them for 20-22 hours per day unless otherwise recommended.

Clear Aligners Cost

But to give you a ballpark figure, you'd be looking at around $3000 AUD upfront or $31 AUD per week on a payment plan (and before you flinch at the weekly amount, reflect on how much you're spending on coffee per week and then chat to us about it). If you have more questions in regards to the how, what, and how much, visit our FAQs page here.

Before and After Clear Aligners: Crowded Teeth

Crowded teeth aren't usually an issue that can be prevented. Unfortunately, they're often hereditary (thanks, Mum and Dad). Thankfully, you can correct crowded and crooked teeth with clear aligners.

Beyond simply using aesthetics as your supportive reason behind looking into clear aligners to correct crowded teeth, know that this condition can contribute to other oral concerns, including increased risk of cavities, gingivitis, tooth decay and gum disease, or periodontal disease. (Have you ordered your impression kit yet?)

Before and After Clear Aligners: Underbite

Does anyone else immediately think of french bulldogs when any mention of 'underbite' is made? While adorable in the canine variety, underbites can be a little less appealing in humans.

Alongside a less-than-aesthetically pleasing look, underbites can cause a host of dental issues, including difficulties in speaking and chowing down on your fav meals. And, depending on the severity, underbites may also increase tooth wear and jaw pain.

Before and After Clear Aligners: Gaps Between Teeth

This one is for the thumb suckers!

Depending on the severity of the gaps between teeth, clear aligners may be the answer you’ve been searching for.

Gaps between teeth are most often caused by things outside our control/ Some include an overgrown labial fraenum, overgrown gum tissue, extra or missing teeth, or gaps between teeth that can even be related to the size of your jawbone. In addition, bad habits like thumb-sucking or tongue-thrusting could also be the culprit - and don't bother lying about it because we will know.

However, not all cases of gaps between teeth are suitable for clear aligner treatment. For example, If you have had a couple of teeth knocked out on a wild night out (we’re not judging) or somehow taken a rough fall that has led to missing teeth, you may be better suited for other orthodontic methods to restore your pristine smile.
